The North Central Family Centre (NCFC) is a registered non-profit, charitable organization located in Regina, Saskatchewan.

For the past 20 years, we have been committed to the revitalization of Regina’s North Central community, offering a wide range of programs, services, events, and activities that are wholistic and available to all community members.

About the project

Rapid Housing Project

Our project involves the development of a new affordable housing complex and community hub at 1066/1076 Angus St. This facility will operate based on Provincial SIS and affordable rates. It’s not just a housing project, but also a community impact hub. This initiative is a joint effort between federal, provincial, and municipal governments and the North Central Family Centre with construction beginning in August 2023.

The Property

Property Features

Our property at North Central Family Centre is more than just a building; it’s a hub for community engagement, sustainability, and innovative design. Our housing facilities are designed to cater to the needs of a diverse range of residents, offering a safe and comfortable environment for women and children, young adults, seniors, families, and Indigenous peoples.

1066/1076 Angus St

The project includes the construction of 30 self-contained housing units offering over 40 beds in a mix of studio, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom layouts, set to begin in August 2023 and complete by November 2024. Alongside this, we’re establishing a 6,000 square foot community hub, equipped with a laundromat, communal kitchen, and support services offices. This space is designed to be flexible, catering to various community groups and services, enhancing the overall community impact of our project.

We strive to create buildings that are safe, independent, and dignified for all users, going beyond Canada’s National Building Code by adhering to CSA B651-18 standards. Our buildings are designed to be solar-ready and feature the innovative PIRANHA Wastewater Energy Recovery system, reducing energy costs and emissions while enhancing climate resilience and housing dignity.
